Happy New Year to all!! I hope you have had a lovely Christmas and brought the new year in with a bang. Both of ours were quiet but nice and I have been enjoying my leave by not doing too much at all. Sadly I am back to work on Monday but until then I am making the most out of them.
This isn't my first card for the new year but it's my first one to enter into a challenge.
Try Stampin' on Tuesday have this sketch for their latest challenge and it was a challenge for me! I struggled
a bit with the blocks but persisted.
Last week I had a play day with a friend where we made some 'Masterboards' (just found this name out and I think they qualify lol). We had a day playing with our distress inks and stencils. The zig zag card is one of those creations. So I've cut it up and layered it on some black card and embossed green card, then added some new die cut sentiments I picked up late last year.My card felt like it suited a 'male' recipient so I added an anchor to spruce it up a bit.
Make sure you pop on over and play along if you're looking for a challenge as most sites are having a break and I'll be back with a few more of my creations I have made over the last few days.
This is beautiful! Love the bright colors! You did a fabulous job with this sketch! I'll admit that it took some thinking on my part too! :-) Thanks for joining us at Try Stampin on Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteGreat card Vik....I too like the bright colours...very Summery!
ReplyDeleteHi Vikki,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the bold, graphic design of your card this week. Very nice take on the sketch, too! Thanks for playing along with us at Try Stamping On Tuesday!
Hi Vikki, I totally agree, this was NOT one of my favorite sketches either, but I'm so glad you stuck with it. You did a great job. I love the anchor centering the whole card together. Thanks for joining us at Try Stampin' on Tuesday!
