Make a Wish

Today's card was inspired by a Tracy Evans Snippet #20. I have been playing along with the Snippets when I can and I really liked this design. This background was a second generation stenciling that I kept and because I was so happy with how my spin on Tracy's design turned out, I decided to make a card out of it.

Joy

Today's card took longer than I thought it would. Firstly, I die cut my JOY sentiment and bauble. I then cut the 'o' out of joy so I could add my bauble in its place. I then used gilding flakes - gold and silver to embellish my text. I adhered them to my red base panel and added an embossed border top and bottom and then to finish off, added a sub sentiment.

Critter Christmas

Today's card was inspired by a You Tube video by Therese Calvird...I don't really 'do' critters so I had to go hunting for some because I loved Therese's idea of turning them into a Christmas theme, the mouse is my favourite but love how the others turned out as well. I just kept them all clean & simple and dug out and dusted off my circle dies to make the images a focal point.

Magical Season

Today's card was created by blending my panel with Distress Oxides Crushed Olive & Mowed Lawn, then stamping my Pine bough in the top left corner with DO Rustic Wilderness. I then cut out a smaller panel from the original and layered it on a panel of white. I stamped my sentiment and adhered the top two panes and layered them onto the bottom panel ensuring the leaves lined up.

A Beautiful Day

For today's card I created a template with 3 windows cut out. I then masked the area around the windows to ensure the blended ink colours stayed in their space as well as the stamped images.
Layered it onto black card and added a small sentiment.

Pastel Blends

I created today's card by stamping a collection of flowers and embossing them with White Embossing Powder. I then blended Saltwater Taffy, Carved Pumpkin & Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Inks over the panel and die cut the piece I wanted to use. I then die cut a smaller panel and used foam tape to give it some height before putting it back into its original location. I die cut my sentiment out of a bit of the blended scrap, layered it onto its base of white card and added a sub-sentiment and a white butterfly to finish it off.

Gilded Flight

I have been inspired to create this card after watching several of Christine Stokes You Tube
videos, see here
I firstly used an embossing folder to create my background. I swiped the embossed side of the EF with DO's Black Soot, I then mixed a bit of Brusho's Turquoise with water and painted the whole background.
After drying the panel, I then brushed some Pearl White Perfect Pearls over the panel and finished it off with some Simon Hurley Gold Lunar Paste that I applied using my finger.
Once I die cut the section I wanted to use, I did have to run it through my Cuttlebug in the EF again to re-emboss the image as it flattened a bit when I die cut my feature panel.
I then used a bit of the left-over card, selected the part I wanted to use and stamped my bird using my Misti, I die cut the bird and then re-stamped the bird to redefine the outline. I only put the Pearl White Perfect Pearls on the bird and not the Gold Luna Paste so that it didn't blend into the background and then mounted all the layers. I added a sentiment & sub-sentiment that I had laying around to finish it off.

Geo Birthday

I haven't posted for a while...life gets in the way. I created a few stenciled backgrounds a few weeks ago with Distress Oxides and this is the first card from that stash. I felt it was a male orientated card so I kept it simple. I layered my panel onto black card, thenI inked up some scrap card with DO Blueprint Sketch and die cut my sentiment twice. I adhered them together and attached them to my panel and added a sub-sentiment below. I did add a bit of Perfect Peals to the sentiment to give it a bit of a lift.

Birthday Candles

I had a stenciling day with my Distress Oxides a few weeks ago so I have been working through them and making cards out of the backgrounds. This stencil reminded me of candles which is why there is a birthday cake on it.

Birthday Cheers

I created today's card by stenciling my background with Distress Oxides : Broken China, Salvage Patina & Scattered Straw. I then found, printed and fussy cut an image off the internet, then die cut a panel out of the stenciling, worked out my sentiment placement, stamped and adhered all my layers. I also foam mounted the image to give it a bit of interest.

Floral Wreath

Today's card was inspired by several Chrissie Stokes tutorials view here. My background feature was created by using my 'Gelli Plate'. I selected the part I wanted to use and then stamped some script on it and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I then cut a window that would fit my floral wreath and adhered the wreath around the aperture. I die cut my sentiment from gold card and added a couple of white butterflies then layered my panel onto the same gold card I used for the sentiment.

Watercolour Birthday

I made today's background by swiping some Distress Oxide inks onto my work surface, spritzing the ink with water and laying my card down over them. I dried it off with a heat tool, die cut my panels, some small florals and the 'happy' for my sentiment. Once I had worked out my layout, I stamped my 'birthday' to complete my sentiment and I also spritzed a bit Perfect Pearls Mist to add a little bit of shiny interest.

Beautiful Day

I started today's card by creating my background with 'Brusho's'. I die cut my flower several times and adhered the layers together to give it some height. Once my background was dry, I cut a panel out of the part I wanted to use and then cut out an inner panel that I then popped up with foam tape. I also added a white outer frame as well. After adhering all my layers, I added a small sentiment, a butterfly and some sequins to finish it all off.
